Privacy Policy

This policy describes what the Popboard app collects, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Account details. Your display name, and the email address or phone number you sign in with. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive your name and email from that provider (and a profile photo, where the provider supplies one). We never see your passwords for those services.
- Your content. What you create and share in the app.
- Service logs. Basic technical records generated by operating the service (such as request timestamps and IP addresses), kept for security and reliability.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no selling or renting of your data — to anyone.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- No use of your content to train AI models.
How your content is shared
Content you share in Popboard is visible to the people you share it with, and an invite link admits the people it's sent to — share links only with the group they're meant for.
Where your data lives
Popboard runs on Supabase, a hosted database and authentication platform; data is encrypted in transit. If you sign in by phone, your one-time codes are delivered by our SMS provider (message and data rates may apply).
A board's artwork is drawn by OpenAI's image model. To make it, we send OpenAI the board's details — its name, tagline, dates, and location — and any words an organizer adds for the artwork. Nothing about you or the people on the board is sent, and OpenAI does not use what we send to train its models.
Your data and your account
Export. In the app, open your account and tap Export My Data to save a copy of everything tied to your account — your profile, the boards you've joined and own, your requests to join, and your activity — as a file you can keep or share.
Take a break. In the app, open your account, tap Delete Account, then Take a Break. You're signed out, and to everyone else your account looks deleted — you leave every roster, and a board you own with no co-organizer is hidden too — until you sign in again. Nothing is lost.
Delete. In the app, open your account and tap Delete Account. Your account is hidden from everyone at once, as a break is, and deleted thirty days later; signing in before then cancels the deletion. When it runs, your profile, your memberships, and your requests to join are deleted. A board you own passes to its longest-standing co-organizer; a board with no co-organizer is deleted for everyone, and the app names those boards before you confirm. Content you added to boards that carry on stays with those boards, without your name on it. If you signed in with Apple, Popboard's access to your Apple ID is revoked when you ask to delete.
You can also delete content you organize from within the app at any time, or write to us at hello@popboard.com for help with either.
Children
Popboard is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
